LEVEL T15 Self Leveling Screed is a cement-based self leveling underlayment, formulated with a special blend of binders, polymer and chemical additives. Specifically designed to smoothen a concrete slab before installing finished flooring (e.g. carpet, vinyl & ceramic tiles, wood laminates and hardwood), LEVEL T15 can also be placed on top of floor slabs with dormant, active cracks and joints using unbonded application. LEVEL T15 can be installed on interior and exterior covered concrete floors to create smoother, more durable and tougher surfaces.

Surface Preparation

The concrete surface must be fully cured and structurally stable. Keep the surface clean and free of paint & contaminants such as dirt, dust, loose material, oil, chemicals, and other foreign matter that might prevent LEVELT15 from adhering to the substrate. Do not acid etch or use adhesive removers, solvents, and sweeping compounds to clean the substrate. Shot blasting, scarifying, and other similar methods are the best way to clean solid concrete. Dormant cracks and joints should be repaired prior to application of leveling mortar

Put an expansion joint 3mm width around the perimeter walls and columns by installing a flexible material like rubber or PE foam. This flexible strip should be at least 5cm above the finish level of the screed. Once the screed has cured, cut off the excess strip prior to the installation of flooring.

Joints and Cracks: Under no circumstances should LEVEL T15 be installed over any moving joints or cracks. This will reflect or appear on the screed as cracks therefore it is best that the underlayment and flooring will follow all existing expansion joints, isolation joints, and construction joints.

1. Mixing

Caution: Use only non-absorptive materials as mixing base (plastic pail or galvanized iron sheets). If absorbent materials such as plywood, wooden box, gypsum board, fiber cement board, or cardboard are used, it will affect the chemical properties of the product, which can result in a form of bonding failure or poor product performance.

Pour water into the mixing pail and add powder. Use a mixing torque or paddle and stir the mixture thoroughly to obtain a smooth and lump-free mix. Observe the correct mixing ratio for the best results.

NOTE: There are 2 indicators to find out if too much water has been added to the mixture: – bubbles & foam while mixing  – settling of sand aggregates during installation

2. Application
Pour the LEVEL mixture immediately on to the surface. Spread and smoothen the mixture using a spiked roller to remove entrapped air and to create seamless and continuous joints. LEVEL T15 is designed to be installed at an average thickness of 40mm. To maintain the homogeneity of LEVEL T15, always prepare the exact amount needed for the total floor area to be covered.

Bonded Installation: Dampen the substrate with water before applying LEVEL Primer. On the concrete substrate, apply LEVEL PRIMER using a brush or roller. Allow it to dry approximately one (1) hour depending on weather and humidity conditions. The minimum thickness for this application is 15mm.

Unbonded Installation: For moisture protection, a plastic sheet or Polyethylene film (PE film) must be laid on top of the surface area to be applied before applying LEVEL T15. All joints must be taped. The minimum thickness for the unbonded application is 40mm.

Protect newly applied mortar by observing the proper curing time.
